intermediate. During the intermediate isolation process, effluent
containing ammonium tartrate is produced.
We have a ready technology by which we can recover tartaric acid in almost
quantitative form and having purity of 99% +. The optical properties of
the recovered tartaric acid are also retained. The tartaric acid thus
obtained can be used back in the process and thus can save substantial
amount on using fresh tartaric acid. Further load on effluent is
practically NIL.
