GAM-Solar Energy is the leading renewable energy and engineering company based in The Gambia, dedicated to the promotion and marketing of new energy technologies and energy efficiency for sustainable development.
GAM-Solar Energy was registered in May 1998. The company’s activities are in four different areas: marketing Photo Voltaic (PV) solar electricity systems, solar water pumping, solar water heating systems (SWH) and energy efficiency compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs).
The company’s experience in The Gambia is the installation and after sales services (maintenance) of some 1000 Solar Home Systems, larger rural village solar water pumping systems (up to 200,000 ltrs/day capacity), and battery bank backup systems for the private sector.
To date more than 80 village solar pumping stations installed by GAM-Solar are in full operation and provide clean potable water to some 150,000 villagers.
